Pole position for Laurens in Hungary

Laurens was consistently in the top five during Friday's session. With only 40 seconds to go, he set the fastest time. Due to a red flag situation caused by Luke Browning, no one could improve his time. Laurens will start from first place in the main race on Sunday.

Unique performance

Laurens drove a strong qualifying. He was already in a good position in the first run, but in the second run he ended up in the top five, and in the last run he set the fastest time. However, it was not easy, the Dutchman had a big moment of oversteer in turn eleven during his pole lap.

"I think because the track temperature was very high today, it was very difficult to string together a lap. That of course makes the car a lot more unstable for everyone. I didn't make it easy for myself in the third sector, but I managed to string it together and in the end it was a good lap."

The performance of the ART team was particularly strong during qualifying. They managed to get on the track at the right time, which meant that Laurens was less bothered by traffic and therefore always had a free lap. His teammate Nikola Tsolov will start the race next to Van Hoepen in second place.
